With its ball turret in the vertical postion, unmanned, and chin turret guns stowed, Lt. R. Gladstone's "Lotta Bull," a 561st Squadron, 388th Bomb Group B-17G, heads back for Knettishall, England after hitting tactical targets around Brest on August 26, 1944. Only a few days later it spun in and was lost with another crew during a mission in poor weather over France.
